What Skills Does a
Technical Specialist Need to Have?
- Technical Interest:
We're
looking for both generalists that have a broad technical understanding of
amateur radio as well as experts that have deep knowledge in specific areas.
- Desire to Help:
A Technical Specialist needs to have a genuine desire to help the ham radio
community and the general public.
- Communication Skills:
We
need people that are effective at communicating. Depending on the individual,
this may include informal discussion, email correspondence, written
communication (newsletters, etc.) or presentations (club or hamfest).
- ARRL Member:
This
is an ARRL appointment and ARRL membership is required to be a Technical
Specialist. However, if you are not an ARRL member and still want to help in
this area, we can put you on our contact list as someone that can assist when
needed.
